Avera Sacred Heart’s Clinical Laboratory Department is a full service laboratory and provides 'round-the-clock' services to the hospital, clinics and nursing homes.

The ASHH Laboratory is licensed through the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA).  Along with meeting these standards, Avera Sacred Heart Hospital Laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).  The Avera Sacred Heart Laboratory is part of the Avera Laboratory Network (ALN).  ALN provides reference laboratory testing to other healthcare facilities in a 5 state region. 

Services in surgical pathology, cytopathology, hematopathology and clinical pathology are provided by Physician’s Laboratory, Ltd.
