New and Expanded Surgery Center

Avera St. Luke's Surgery Center uses the latest technology and equipment to provide services in various specialty areas, including visual tracking for sinus surgery, small incision surgery in total knees, surgery through a scope in general and plastic procedures, laser treatments for glaucoma, and coblation for tonsil surgery.

New Same Day Surgery

Our beautiful new Same Day Surgery serves more than 3,000 patients each year. This area, part of our Surgery Center, includes 22 same day surgery patient rooms (including four flex rooms), an all new and spacious post-surgery recovery area, a large and very comfortable waiting room, plus two private family/physician consultation rooms.

There's even a separate pediatric playroom, plus a refreshment center for the waiting family! The efficient nursing stations allow us to serve you even better.

Surgery Improvements

Now that our new Same Day Surgery and post-surgery recovery areas are completed, patients enjoy bigger rooms, have more privacy, find added convenience and a lot more space in this area on the first floor of the southeast addition.

The Surgery Center underwent significant remodeling and changes, including surgery suites, call rooms, a staff lounge and additional storage. Work was done on seven operating suites, each designed for special surgical procedures. A minimally invasive operating suite features an advanced surgical camera system.

Our Team

The surgery team consists of specially trained surgeons, anesthesiologists, certified nurse anesthetists, registered nurses, certified surgical technologists, processing technicians, inventory coordinators, and secretarial staff all working together to provide service to individuals of all ages, pediatric through geriatric.
